This is it, the core product. You’ve seem my visual style imitated by new and established photographers alike, but these are the only pictures that are going to help you be noticed, remembered, and to start forging the kinds of relationships that acting careers are built on.

Session fee $395

Everyone needs different pictures, which is why I give actors the option of meeting before booking a session to figure out where you’re at, what your goals are, and what we need these pictures to achieve. My headshot packages are tight, focused, and always contain lots of great choices. Sessions last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, are shot on state of the art equipment, and include the following at no extra cost:

• A returning client discount of $50 off subsequent sessions, as a way to help you keep your headshots up to date
• 5 to 10 business day turnaround from the shoot date, which means you’re never waiting longer than two weeks for your pictures

  A must-have, in my opinion. Get all your session images burned to a CD, colour correct and ready for emailing, posting to Casting Workbook, or putting on the web
• Hi-res session CD $299
  Like your web CD, except print resolution. Get all your pictures at 10×15 inches and 300dpi, unretouched and unwatermarked, burned to a single CD which you can then use in whatever non-resale fashion you can think of, from making 8×10s on demand to plastering your bedroom with posters of yourself.
• Second set of unwatermarked 4″ proofs $49
  A complete, unwatermarked, duplicate set of your session proofs. No selections
• Next-day courier $14.99

Hair & makeup styling

Overdone hair and makeup is one of the biggest complaints casting has with actors headshots. My exclusive makeup artist Sigi Bloomberg is a master at keeping it simple, natural and unobtrusive, while still giving the camera all the contrast, definition and punch it needs. I strongly recommend investing in hair and/or makeup for women. Sigi never disappoints. Check out her work in my womens portfolio, or read her bio on the about page.

8×10s and repros

Most headshot photographers do one of two things when it comes to 8×10s: either they let a lab computer do all the work resulting in 8×10s with blemishes, screwy colour, or questionable skin tone, or they heavy-handedly retouch your image on their own to the point where you look like a poreless mannequin. As a digital post expert, I spend a significant amount of time with every 8×10 image you order, invisibly removing things like blemishes, dust, scratches, flyaways, and undereye tiredness, while also making sure the colour, contrast and layout of your image is perfect and punchy.

My 8×10s are cropped, colour and density corrected, and laid out in a clean, contemporary style, before being profiled specifically for my pro lab’s printer. My 8×10s are gorgeous, heavyweight, continuous tone prints, and are continually proofed and checked at every stage for maximum quality. If, however, you’d rather be able to print your own 8×10s I offer both retouched, hi-res CD masters and unretouched hi-res session CDs.

  A CD master is a retouched, laid out copy of your 8×10 just as it would appear if I printed it, but delivered in high resolution on CD-ROM to be printed anywhere you choose at your own expense.

  Yes, printing small quantities of 8×10s is extremely expensive.
• Hi-res session CD $299
  Don’t want the hassle of ordering 8×10s, want to print posters or other collateral material on your own, or just want all of your unretouched session images as hi-res digital files? Get all of your proof images, untouched and unwatermarked, at 10 x 15 inches and 300 dpi.
• Next-day courier $14.99
  Save yourself the hassle of finding a free weekday to pick your prints up. Have your 8×10s couriered to you next business day via Xpresspost as soon as they’re ready
• Rush 24 hour turnaround, add 50%
  Pick up your 8×10s 24 hours after I receive your order (within business hours), or order them shipped for even more convenient service.
• Additional retouching for 8×10s, and other digital retouching $99/hr
  While I always retouch 8×10s to my own professional standard, you or your agent may request additional retouching like changing the colour of your hair, eyes or clothing, or modifying your body in some way. This type of retouching is always extra, and is billed in quarter-hour increments. Additionally, I can retouch images that you don’t intend to print or order as hi-res CD masters.

Demo reels and video editing

Having a reel, whether it’s a tightly produced series of clips from major motion picture and television projects or simply a recorded audition, is a must-have for the serious actor. There are lots of casting houses that’ll “put you to tape”, and lots of directors who’ll work on a scene with you, but up until now there’s been nobody that can combine those two things with production quality sound, HD video and editing for anything approaching a reasonable price. Luckily for you I’m not just an award-winning photographer, I’m also a director, cinematographer, editor and producer with my own motion video production company.

Through Flyweight Films I can offer actors a raft of state of the art video production services, from editing existing footage into a punchy reel for DVD or the web, to producing and directing demo pieces from scratch for one or more actors. I can even suggest scripts or audition material, and connect you with other actors. Email me for more info.

A better audition piece (single actors) $199

Whether you have an original script, an existing monologue, an improvised performance or some combination, let me produce your audition piece. You get up to an hour of my time in the studio in which I’ll light, block, shoot and collaborate with you on your piece, to help make your audition as strong as possible. Then I’ll edit, grade and render your piece into a tight, broadcast quality DVD movie complete with production quality sound and titles. Finally I’ll deliver your audition piece to you as a playable HD or SD DVD and a web-ready streaming video file, or integrate it into your existing reel, all within 10 business days.

Optional reel services

  Each actor adds up to an hour of studio time and is shot in full coverage. Everyone gets a copy of the piece, and can order additional products or services independently.
